Chapter 7: Underground
Complete walkthrough for all 6 habitats in the Underground — every Smiley Flower, discovery, and Golden Bug location.
Underbit Habitat
A mole-like creature with powerful claws. It digs through dirt walls and tunnels, opening new paths for Yoshi to explore.
🌸 3 Smiley Flowers 1 Inspect the mole-like creature near the dirt wall with the Magnifying Glass.
2 Gobble the Underbit (B) and carry it to the dirt wall on the right. It will automatically start digging.
3 Follow the tunnel it digs. Smiley Flower 1 is in the first hidden chamber on the left.
4 Continue through the tunnel. Use the Underbit to dig through the ceiling to reach the upper level.
5 On the upper level, dig right through the long dirt wall. Smiley Flower 2 is midway through.
6 Find the Golden Bug in the deep chamber below — dig straight down from the marked soil patch.
7 Dig through the final wall to reach the underground lake. Smiley Flower 3 is on the island in the center.
8 Carry the Underbit to the giant dirt mound at the far end and dig through it — this reveals the Big Discovery. Jump into the sparkly spot to finish.
Tumball Habitat
A round armadillo-like creature that curls into a tough ball. Yoshi can roll it along the ground to knock over obstacles and enemies.
🌸 3 Smiley Flowers 1 Inspect the curled-up creature near the rocky slope with the Magnifying Glass.
2 Jump on the Tumball (A) to make it curl into a ball. Then push it (walk into it) to start rolling.
3 Roll it down the slope to knock over the row of stone pillars. Smiley Flower 1 is behind the pillars.
4 Roll the Tumball up the ramp on the left to reach the elevated platform. Smiley Flower 2 is at the top.
5 Find the Golden Bug on the ledge above the rolling track — Flutter Jump from the highest ramp.
6 Roll the Tumball into the large cracked boulder at the far right to smash it. Smiley Flower 3 is inside.
7 Roll the Tumball through all the stone rings in sequence — this is the Big Discovery. Jump into the sparkly spot to finish.
Wiggaline Habitat
A worm-like creature that lives in holes in the cave wall. Pull it out to extend it as a bridge or platform, but it retracts after a short delay.
🌸 4 Smiley Flowers 1 Inspect the creature peeking out of the cave wall hole with the Magnifying Glass.
2 Grab the Wiggaline's head (B near the hole) and pull — it extends outward. Quickly run across it to reach the platform on the other side.
3 Pull the Wiggaline on the upper left and use it as a bridge to cross the gap. Smiley Flower 1 is on the far platform.
4 Find the Wiggaline near the ceiling. Pull it down to use as a hanging rope — climb up to the ledge above. Smiley Flower 2 is there.
5 Find the Golden Bug on the far right wall — pull the Wiggaline near it to create a platform to stand on.
6 Pull the long Wiggaline near the lava pit and run across quickly before it retracts. Smiley Flower 3 is on the other side.
7 Pull all three Wiggalines in the final room simultaneously (use Egg Tosses to trigger the far ones). Smiley Flower 4 appears in the center.
8 Pull the giant Wiggaline at the back wall all the way out — it bridges the entire room. This is the Big Discovery. Jump into the sparkly spot to finish.
Glowmole Habitat
A bioluminescent mole that lights up dark cave sections. Its glow reveals hidden platforms and creatures invisible in the darkness.
🌸 3 Smiley Flowers 1 Inspect the glowing creature in the dark cave section with the Magnifying Glass.
2 Gobble the Glowmole (B) — Yoshi now glows, illuminating the area around him.
3 Enter the pitch-black tunnel to the right. The Glowmole's light reveals hidden platforms. Smiley Flower 1 is on the first revealed platform.
4 Continue through the dark section. The light reveals a hidden creature on the ceiling — toss an egg at it to make it drop a key.
5 Use the key to open the locked door. Smiley Flower 2 is inside the lit chamber.
6 Find the Golden Bug in the darkest corner of the cave — only visible while carrying the Glowmole.
7 Carry the Glowmole to the crystal formation at the far end. Its light refracts through the crystals, revealing Smiley Flower 3 on the ceiling.
8 Carry the Glowmole to the giant dark crystal at the back and hold it up — the light fills the entire cave. This is the Big Discovery. Jump into the sparkly spot to finish.
Stalagtite Habitat
A living stalactite that drops from the ceiling when Yoshi passes below. It can be used as a platform or thrown as a heavy projectile.
🌸 3 Smiley Flowers 1 Inspect the creature hanging from the ceiling with the Magnifying Glass.
2 Walk under a Stalagtite — it drops. Quickly jump on it (A) before it shatters to use it as a platform.
3 Ride the dropped Stalagtite across the lava pool below. Smiley Flower 1 is on the platform on the far side.
4 Gobble a Stalagtite (B) before it drops and carry it. Throw it (Y) at the cracked wall to break it. Smiley Flower 2 is behind the wall.
5 Find the Golden Bug on the high ledge — drop a Stalagtite below it and use it as a stepping stone.
6 Trigger three Stalagtites in sequence to create a staircase across the wide gap. Smiley Flower 3 is at the top of the staircase.
7 Carry a Stalagtite to the giant cracked ceiling at the back and throw it upward — the ceiling collapses, revealing the sky. This is the Big Discovery. Jump into the sparkly spot to finish.
Crystalwing Habitat
A butterfly with crystalline wings that shatters into shards when hit. The shards can be collected and thrown to activate crystal switches.
🌸 4 Smiley Flowers 1 Inspect the crystal butterfly near the glowing switch with the Magnifying Glass.
2 Toss an egg at a Crystalwing — it shatters into 3 crystal shards. Gobble the shards (B) to collect them.
3 Throw a shard (Y) at the blue crystal switch on the left wall. A platform appears. Smiley Flower 1 is on the platform.
4 Shatter another Crystalwing and throw shards at the two switches on the upper wall simultaneously. Smiley Flower 2 appears.
5 Find the Golden Bug behind the crystal barrier — shatter a Crystalwing directly in front of the barrier to break it.
6 Collect shards from three Crystalwings and throw them at the three switches in the far room in quick succession. Smiley Flower 3 drops from the ceiling.
7 Carry a live Crystalwing (Tail Flick) to the giant crystal at the back. Toss an egg at it while it's near the crystal — the explosion activates all switches at once. Smiley Flower 4 appears.
8 Activate the final switch array by shattering a Crystalwing in the center of the room — the crystal ceiling opens. This is the Big Discovery. Jump into the sparkly spot to finish.
