All Moves

| B | Gobble | Eat nearby creatures or items to produce eggs. |
| B (aim) | Egg Toss | Aim and throw an egg at targets or enemies. |
| A (hold) | Flutter Jump | Hold A after jumping to flutter and gain extra height. |
| A → ↓ | Ground Pound | Press A to jump, then press down to slam into the ground. |
| X | Tail Flick | Grab a creature and carry it on Yoshi's back to use its ability. |
| ↓ (moving) | Crouch / Crawl | Crouch while moving to crawl through narrow passages. |
| ZR / Sprint | Sprint | Hold to run faster. |
Move Tips
Tail Flick is the key move
Most creature interactions require the Tail Flick (X). Grab a creature, then use it on objects or other creatures in the environment to trigger discoveries.
Gobble creates eggs
Eating a creature with B turns it into an egg you can throw. Some discoveries require hitting specific targets with eggs.
Flutter Jump for reach
Hold A after a jump to flutter. Essential for reaching high platforms and some creature interactions.
Ground Pound breaks things
A → ↓ slams the ground. Use it on soft terrain, certain creatures, and objects to trigger reactions.
Crouch to explore
Hold ↓ while walking to crawl. Required to enter narrow tunnels and reach hidden areas in habitats.
